Peanut Butter Protein Balls
We all get the desire to munch…typically when we eat the correct amount of nutrients per day and break them down into 5-6 small meals we lose cravings to simply graze or indulge as much. This however doesn’t apply to those of us who have a tendency to emotionally eat. I will be blogging on that subject later. For now let me give some ideas for healthy and yummy munch able snacks that you can throughly enjoy, guilt free!
Most people tend to be drawn towards either SWEET snacks or SALTY & CRUNCHY snacks. Here are a few options for both!
4 scoops (2 full servings) of chocolate, vanilla or strawberry protein powder and organic or all natural peanut butter (or my favorite, Better’N-Butter).
Take a freezer safe container (9×11, 1- 1 ½ inch deep Tupperware container is recommended) and spread 2 scoops of the protein powder as a base across the container. Take 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and (using forefinger) push onto the layer of protein powder. Repeat this until you have a row of 8 peanut butter circles in the container. Then sprinkle the other 2 scoops of protein powder on top of the peanut butter. Then using your hands pat the powder into the peanut butter until making a ball. Add a toothpick into the center of each ball. Put into freezer and chill. Can be eaten chilled or frozen.
